Thale world premieres at Bergen international film festival 9th of February, then we bring Thale “back home” to Mosjøen 13th of February- before we enter around 100 cinemas for the national premiere 17th of February. Exciting and busy days and the team is doing fantastic work with the marketing and final post production for the film. I am spending my days at NRK++ in between interviews about the huldra Thale. A role I grew very fond of and look forward to give away to the rest of the world. You can read one of the interviews (in Norwegian) and watch trailer under “press”. Also attached is a link to the international subtitled version of trailer. We just received the great news that shortly after its Norwegian premiere, Thale will have its international premiere at the world known festival South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. Thale will be shown as part of the ”Emerging Vision” program, and will therefore compete for the best film award. Soon there is only one thing left to say; Let the T(h)ale be told!

I’ve landed on the part as Ellen in NRK’s new TV series Hjem, which start filming 9th of January 2012. Ellen is one of the supporting roles in Hjem (Home) that will hopefully be NRKs new hit in 2013. This years christmas holiday will be spent preparing for episode 1 & 2. We are getting closer to the big cinema premiere of Thale 17th of February… and 10th of January me and director Aleksander Nordaas will be presenting the film for media and film industry at Filmens Hus in Oslo.

Im currently in my last week of directing Larry and Julenissen- and Ive had great fun lately filming the new TV commercial for Norwegians favourite pizza Grandiosa which will air on Norwegian Television in the New Year. 2012 will be one exciting year!

Finally- its official: THALE premieres in Norwegian cinemas February 2012. This will be my debut in a lead role on the big screen, something I`ve worked very determined to achieve for many years. So I`m very excited, and of course- filled with nerves…:). Aleksander Nordaas is directing, and Raymond Enoksen is composing the music. We all grew up in the same small town north in Norway; Mosjøen- which makes this even more special for us, and we are humble and thrilled to be telling you the tale of Thale together. We have been working long hours on this project since 2009, and its good to know that it will finally reach its audience. Hopefully- you will like it. Days until premiere will be filled with promotion work and post production work for the film- amongst other things! For example Im currently directing my first proffesional performance with proffesional actors; Larry og Julenissen- which premieres in Lørenskog Kulturhus 16th of December. I`m very excited to join “the other side” and learn how it works! So quite busy days ahead- but work is my love. And to quote the man who said it better than some huldra from Norway could: “You’ve got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do…. Don’t settle.” - Steve Jobs.

The new TVN series Helt perfekt with norwegian comedian Thomas Giertsen in the main part premiered at TVN 21st of September- with excellent reviews from the media. I am proud to be a part of this series, and am looking forward to appear in a guest role and hopefully show off some comic skills this upcoming wednesday 28th of August. It is the most fun and most embarrasing role Ive ever had- but I can guarantee after seeing two episodes that this series will be hysterical and so much fun so stay tuned! You aint seen nothing yet…

I also landed (after two auditions) on the main part in one of four films of a big national TV commercial for Syklus which started running on TV2 last week. I had a great time working with actor Trond Fausa Aurvåg who directed the campaign, and am proud and happy to be a part of this project for such an important cause. You can now watch the TV commercial under Press.

I am also currently doing voice for a new childrens series for NRK about Raa raa the little lion. I really enjoy dubbing again!

Dunderland hits the big screen 6th of January. I play the small but important role as the farmers wife.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST: The post production of feature film THALE has started with amazing names joining our team.Stay tuned for excact release dates VERY soon. I play the title role as Thale, and Aleksander Nordaas is directing. This will be my debut in a main part on the big screen- something that I have worked very hard to achieve for many years. (Always said I would do it before turning 30, and now it looks like this goal is achieved.) Raymond Enoksen is composing the music as we speak, and its worth mentioning that all three of us grew up in the same small town in the north of Norway- which makes this even more special. We started working on Thale in 2009- so all of us have put alot of time, hard work and energy transforming the original idea into a full length cinema film. This fall will be spent preparing for the big premiere… I am very excited to be working with master Alen Grujic to create the official poster.

Hopefully this will be one exciting upncoming year in the name of the art, the hard work and the positive thoughts:)

Love from Silje!

THALE- to be told

The year of film 2011

I will start 2011 filming Norwegian short film Et liv- En sjanse in January where I will be playing the main female role as Ylva. Irasj Asanti, who wrote and directed last years Norwegian Cannes short film contribution Uventet, will be directing. Zakariassen må dø by director Magne Pettersen premieres at Tromsø International film festival in January and will be opening the Norwegian short film program at this years festival. I am playing the role as Aud, the wife of Zakariassen who is played by Norwegian star and highly regarded actor Hallvard Holmen. I very much enjoyed meeting Hallvard and work together with him for the first time, especially since we grew up in the same small town in the north of Norway and never met before working together on this film!

I´ve also landed on a supporting role in the upcoming feature Dunderland. I look forward to work with director  Finn-Erik Rognan who I also worked with on Hockey 501 commercial for norwegian TV2 Zebra.

SO LONG!

I’ve landed on the main part as Solveig in the Norwegian segment of international feature film Geography of the Hapless Heart. The script is written by Alexandra Billington, and Espen Bjørshol Solberg is our Norwegian director. Amongst other names it starres Bonnie Wright (Harry Potter), Daisy Lowe, Douglas Booth, Matthew McNulty. My Norwegian co stars are Christian Rubeck (Max Manus, Millions, Rottenetter, Reprise) and Comedian Zahid Ali. I am very excited about this role! N.Y based Linda Saetre is our producer.
I’ve also got a tiny part in the upcoming feature film Jørgen + Anne = Sant. I’m playing the mother with her child in the ghost story within the story.
I will also be playing the role as Aud in novel film Zakariassen må dø. Zakariassen is played by Norwegian actor Hallvard Holmen, best known for his portrayal of Roy in NRK success series Himmelblå.
